Celebrity Apex Brings Edge Class to Port Canaveral

Port Canaveral is rolling out the red carpet for the arrival of Celebrity Apex, marking her first-ever sailing from Florida’s Space Coast. The Edge-class ship officially began her Caribbean season on November 1, 2025, offering 7-night cruises through spring 2026.

A New Era for Celebrity Cruises at Port Canaveral

Following a 13-night transatlantic voyage from Southampton, Celebrity Apex arrived at Port Canaveral early Saturday morning to an enthusiastic welcome. The milestone was marked by a plaque exchange ceremony between Captain Panagiotis Skylogiannis and Canaveral Port Authority Commissioner Kevin Markey—a maritime tradition celebrating a ship’s inaugural call to a new port.

This is the first time Celebrity Apex has visited Port Canaveral, and her arrival further strengthens the partnership between Celebrity Cruises and the Port Canaveral community.

“Celebrity Cruises’ inaugural season from Port Canaveral was hugely successful and we’re thrilled to welcome home the stunning Celebrity Apex,” said Capt. John Murray, Port Canaveral CEO. “We’re proud of our partnership and the continued economic impact it brings to the region.”

Expanding Port Canaveral’s Cruise Lineup

Celebrity Apex joins an already impressive roster of ships homeported at Port Canaveral — now 13 vessels across six cruise lines, including:

  • Royal Caribbean: Utopia of the Seas, Star of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Adventure of the Seas

  • Carnival Cruise Line: Mardi Gras, Carnival Vista, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Glory

  • Disney Cruise Line: Disney Wish, Disney Treasure

  • Norwegian Cruise Line: Norwegian Prima (with Norwegian Joy arriving November 11)

  • MSC Cruises: MSC Seashore

  • Celebrity Cruises: Celebrity Apex

Port Canaveral is currently the world’s second-busiest cruise port, with roughly 75% of passengers driving in from surrounding states — making it one of the most convenient cruise gateways in North America.

About Celebrity Apex

The 130,800-gross ton Celebrity Apex is part of Celebrity’s acclaimed Edge class, known for its innovative design and standout features like the Magic Carpet, a cantilevered platform that extends over the ocean for dining and lounging.

Slightly larger than her sister ship Celebrity Equinox (which launched Celebrity’s Port Canaveral program in 2024), the Apex accommodates up to 3,405 guests, bringing even more travelers to experience the brand’s upscale Caribbean voyages.

Winter Caribbean Itineraries

From now through April 2026, Celebrity Apex will offer a variety of 7-night sailings to top Caribbean and Bahamian destinations, including:

  • San Juan, Puerto Rico

  • St. Kitts

  • Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

  • Key West, Florida

  • Bimini, Bahamas

  • Grand Turk

In April 2026, she’ll depart on a 13-night transatlantic cruise from Port Canaveral to Southampton, visiting Bermuda, the Azores, and Lisbon along the way — before beginning her European summer season.

Then, in October 2026, Celebrity Apex will make her return to Port Canaveral, ready for another winter of Caribbean getaways.
