Cruise trends are evolving fast. In this episode, Dan examines some of the most controversial cruise trends currently spreading across social media. From mattresses dragged onto balconies, to cabin doors being barricaded, to objects being thrown overboard, cruise influencers and cruise creators are pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable onboard modern cruise ships.
As cruise videos rack up millions of views on TikTok and YouTube, an important question emerges:
Are cruise lines enforcing their rules consistently?
Cruise ships operate under strict safety regulations for a reason. Every cruise passenger attends a muster drill where they are clearly told not to discard anything overboard. Cabin layouts are designed for safety and emergency access. Balcony areas are not intended to become outdoor bedrooms. Yet cruise influencers and cruise creators are increasingly turning rule-bending behaviour into viral cruise videos.
We reached out to multiple cruise lines for comment regarding these cruise trends. Some responded. Some declined to comment. Others remained silent altogether.
So what does that mean?
Are cruise trends simply harmless fun?
Or are cruise influencers encouraging behaviour that could create safety risks at sea?
And should cruise lines be more transparent when cruise creators publicly push the limits for content?
This video is not about attacking individuals. It is about consistency, safety, and standards across the cruise industry.
Cruise content has become a powerful marketing tool. Cruise videos drive bookings, shape perception and influence passenger behaviour. But when cruise influencers normalise actions that appear to contradict cruise rules, the wider cruise community notices.
If you love cruise travel, cruise ships and cruise culture, this conversation matters.

Are these cruise trends harmless?
Or are cruise creators taking things too far?
Do cruise lines need to clarify their policies more publicly?
