Perfect Day CocoCay Up, Up and Away Helium Balloon Ride – Royal Caribbean 2025

We booked this ride well in advance of our cruise, fully aware that it’s always weather dependent. For example, on our March Wonder of the Seas cruise, this ride was canceled due to bad weather. If you’ve pre-booked and your ride gets canceled or rescheduled, Royal Caribbean will refund your money. And if you’ve booked a morning slot but can only go in the afternoon, you’ll still be among the first to go up, so early booking definitely has its perks.

We originally booked our ride for 10:00 AM, but due to strong winds, we went at 2:30 PM instead. The ride lasts a little over 10 minutes and takes you 450 feet (about 137 meters) above land and sea. Our guide shared fascinating facts about the island while we were in the air.

Was it worth it? Absolutely! Keep in mind that it’s weather dependent, so you can never be 100% sure you’ll get to ride.
